Inspiration I - Khara Deurhof

Khara Deurhof's set of photographs entitled "Out There" really relate to the concept of journey very well. The artworks were inspired by her own surroundings, where the idea of travel, by mediums of transports remind her of the need to break away to follow her dreams.

The artworks are interestingly edited with a green/yellow tone which changed the mood entirely. However, I felt the effect was overused in some of the photographs in the collection; for example the first piece below. The second piece featured used the effect quite nicely which complimented mood and expression on the subject's face.

I like how she incorporated the idea of travelling away through the use of the railway tracks and a bicycle.
